This faculty role plays an essential part in shaping meaningful learning experiences and supporting student success throughout their academic journey. The Assistant Teaching Professor of Education will teach a range of undergraduate education courses, offering students the guidance, encouragement, and expertise they need to grow into confident professionals. This position also contributes to the ongoing development of our program and works closely with campus partners to strengthen the overall student experience. Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or master's degree with at least 15 graduate credits in education or a combination of education and equivalent experiences to be reviewed with application.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in P-12 schools.
  • Curriculum development to include experiential and/or active learning engagement for students.
  • Mentoring skills and experience.
  • Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, etc., email and electronic calendar, and strong internet familiarity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds and locations.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of P-12 teaching experience with demonstrated growth.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience in the field of education.
  • Experience with field-based teaching and online learning.
  • Familiarity with competency-based teaching.
  • Data entry on student performance.
  • Industry-related certifications.
  • Appropriate doctoral degree.

Responsibilities

  • Teach education courses that support student learning, engagement, and academic achievement.
  • Mentor and advise students, with a focus on positive retention and holistic development.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete performance data entry in a timely manner.
  • Submit assessments, grades, and all required documentation by established deadlines.
  • Participate in campus committees and contribute to service activities within the division.
  • Collaborate with industry and community partners to enrich academic programming.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality curriculum that aligns with program goals and industry expectations.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and Academic Division Dean.
