This teaching assistant professor position will teach undergraduate courses possibly including cross-listed courses in the Department of Computer Science as assigned by the department chair. The typical course load for an instructor is 24 credit hours (80%25 time) per academic year and service activity (20%25 time). An individual hired for this position will teach courses necessary for multiple Computer Science (CS) and related degrees and specializations.

Requirements

  • A MS in Computer Science OR a related degree is required at the time of appointment.
  • Experience teaching at least one course as a teaching assistant, instructor of record, or the equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

  • An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field or relevant industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience teaching one or more relevant CS courses at the post-secondary level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate, and possibly cross-listed, courses in cybersecurity and computer science
  • Developing new courses in cybersecurity and computer science
  • Advising undergraduate majors
  • Participating in College and Departmental committees and meetings
  • Other activities as assigned by the Chair of the Computer Science Department
  • Guiding undergraduate students in independent studies
  • Developing and teaching online courses
