About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology and Health at Rutgers University invites applications for a non-tenure track (NTT) faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank who will serve as the Director of the Global Sports Business Master of Science (M.S.) Program beginning in Fall 2026. This position is a calendar-year appointment with the possibility of renewal through Rutgers' teaching faculty track. Assistant Teaching Professors are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, engage in professional development, and provide service and leadership consistent with the mission of the Department, the School of Arts and Sciences, and Rutgers University. This position is a dual leadership and instructional role requiring a dynamic and visionary educator. The successful candidate will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the Global Sports Business (GSB) M.S. program, focusing on curriculum development, student recruitment and mentorship, industry engagement and partnerships, instructor evaluations, and career readiness. We are particularly interested in candidates who can develop and execute a strategic plan to strengthen the GSB program's reputation, student outcomes, and alignment with departmental goals. As an Assistant Teaching Professor, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sport management and related areas. Candidates with experience teaching sport management courses in sales, entrepreneurship, and economics are particularly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Sport Management, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant teaching and/or professional experience in sport management or related fields.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills in academic or industry settings.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Sport Management, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in higher education.
  • A record of leadership accomplishments in graduate education.
  • Record of contributions outside of the classroom related to sport management.
  • A record of professional development, with a focus on subject-specific and/or teaching and learning effectiveness in Higher Education.
