About The Position

The Assistant Systems Administrator supports the stability, security, and performance of the Bank’s technology infrastructure. This role assists with day-to-day system administration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, networks, and core technology platforms while ensuring systems operate reliably and in alignment with security and regulatory requirements. The position works closely with IT leadership, vendors, and internal teams to support business operations and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or infrastructure operations.
  • Working knowledge of server operating systems, network concepts, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience supporting user access, permissions, and basic security controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and controls.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours support or on-call rotations as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, banking, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft server environments, Active Directory, and endpoint management tools.
  • Exposure to cloud-based platforms, virtualization, or network administration.
  • Knowledge of information security concepts and regulatory expectations related to IT systems.
  • Experience supporting audits, exams, or compliance activities.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, or similar) are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to grow within the IT infrastructure and systems administration field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, networks, operating systems, and core technology platforms.
  • Support system availability, performance, backups, patching, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Respond to and resolve system issues, incidents, and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with user access management, provisioning, and deprovisioning in accordance with security policies and internal controls.
  • Support implementation of system updates, upgrades, and new technology solutions under the direction of senior IT staff.
  • Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance metrics to identify and escalate potential issues.
  • Assist with information security practices, including vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and incident response activities.
  • Support compliance with regulatory, audit, and security requirements by maintaining documentation, evidence, and system configurations.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers to support system operations and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and technical standards.
  • Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and system testing activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal users as needed.
