About The Position
ASSISTANT SWIM TEAM COACH - West YMCA $16.50/hour Part Time Starting ASAP JOIN THE Y - WHERE WORK IS PLAY! Are you passionate about making a lasting impact on your community? We are currently looking for a high energy individual with a passion for helping others to join our team! Our Assistant Swim Team Coach assists in conducting quality practices which foster a positive swimming experience, educational experience, aid in personal development, and contributes to self discipline for the children in our program. The Assistant Swim Team Coach assists in conducting quality practices which foster a positive swimming experience that will provide an educational experience, aid personal development, contribute to self discipline and provide a rewarding experience for our Swim Team members.
Requirements
- Competitive swimming experience at the high school level or collegiate level required.
- Must possess and maintain current Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification is desired.
Responsibilities
- Assists Swim Team Head Coach during practice and at competitions.
- Ensures safe environment for all swimmers and spectators
- Provides instruction in stroke technique as well as starts and turns.
- Develops and administers strong team discipline at all times.
- Prepares all meet entries and registrations
- Attends scheduled swim meets
- Builds team leadership, encourages good sportsmanship, team loyalty, hard work and courteous, respectful behavior.
- Demonstrates a cheerful, positive attitude.
