Assistant Swim Coach
About The Position
The City of Lenexa is currently accepting applications for Assistant Swim Coaches for the Lenexa Lazers team within the Parks and Recreation Department. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable coaching, teamwork, and leadership skills while serving the community primarily at Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center (8801 Greenway Lane). Schedule: The Lazer Swim and Dive Season runs from mid-May through mid-July. MondayFriday: Morning practices Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings: Swim meets Position Summary: The Assistant Swim Coach supports the Head Coach in conducting practices and meets, teaching stroke techniques, analyzing performance, and instructing participants of various skill levels. This role involves creating a positive and inclusive team environment, assisting with meet preparation, monitoring participant safety, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. The Assistant Swim Coach also helps ensure compliance with safety and sanitary regulations, maintains pool and equipment cleanliness, and completes required reports and attendance logs accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Previous competitive swim and swim lesson instruction experience.
- CPR/AED certification from a nationally recognized agency, or ability to complete CPR course through the City of Lenexa.
