About The Position

Mount St. Mary's University's Athletic Department has 3 Part-Time openings for Strength and Conditioning Coaches. The coaches will assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with general oversight of the Strength and Conditioning Program for the university's 25 NCAA Division I sports. Team assignments based on experience and facility scheduling. This position allows employees to pursue a master’s degree and receive tuition remission benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field
  • Excellent communication skills (verbally and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA)
  • USAW Level 1 Coaching Certification
  • Previous experience programming and utilizing Teambuildr
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Previous strength and conditioning experience through internships and/or study

Responsibilities

  • Develops strength and conditioning programs for male and female student-athletes with review from the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
  • Assist with the supervision of the varsity weight room to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of student-athletes.
  • Supervises and coordinates strength and conditioning programs for men's and women's sports as assigned.
  • Performs strength testing and evaluation as assigned.
  • Implementation and reporting of sports science technology and software.
  • Oversees strength and conditioning programs which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise technique.
  • Ensures consistent and effective communication with athletic trainers and coaches.
  • Willingness and ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Additional travel with teams will be required as assigned.
  • Responsible for adhering to all department and University policies and procedures and the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, CWPA, NIRA, and the NCAA.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
