POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Store Director is responsible for assisting the Store Director in all phases of store operations including enforcement of all policies and standards of FAIRVALUE. Assists the Store Director with cash and inventory control as well as maintaining FAIRVALUE's high standards of customer service. Is responsible for rotation of all perishable product in the grocery, dairy, frozen food and HBC departments. Responsible for the entire store in the Store Director's absence. Has direct authority over all store associates in the Store Director's absence. Reports to the Store Director.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent, preferred.
- Knowledge of DSD/Scanning Operations
- Knowledge of front end operations
- Three plus years’ retail grocery experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good people and customer interaction skills.
- Skills in areas of leadership, management, coaching, teaching, and motivating employees.
- Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
- Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems – operational, customer, and employee.
- Customer service skills related to interaction with resolving customer concerns.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a high pressure and demanding environment.
- Ability to multi-task, i.e., pick-up where left off when interrupted.
- Good organizational skills.

- Travel – some local travel required for running business errands
- Lifting – up to 60 lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Visual concentration – high level
- Bend, kneel and stand for extended period of time
- Ability to unload merchandise from trucks and operate hydraulic equipment
