National Aviation Services is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to oversee the operation at our STL - ST. Louis International Airport location. The ASM is responsible for all on-site location staff, including Interior Aircraft Cleaners, Building Maintenance Cleaners, Leads, and Supervisors alongside the Station Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Assistant Manager for National Aviation Services, you are part of the management team and you are responsible for coordinating resources to efficiently reach National Aviation services goals and service standards. The nature of your responsibilities are as follows: PLANNING: Planning is one of the primary supervisory functions; you will plan and develop strategies for success. However, no matter how well you plan, problems can arise and threaten the operation (crisis management) your goal for crisis management is to keep the operation functioning smoothly both during and after the crisis. ORGANIZING: Organizing is the process of arranging resources to carry out the operation’s provided services. The Assistant Manager must think through all the activities that our employees carry out, as well as the equipment and supplies employees need to provide our services. Keep in mind that every week we face new situations as well as new demands therefore organizing tasks are never finished. LEADING: Leading is the process of influencing and motivating our employees to work effectively and willingly. As a National Aviation Services Assistant Manager with good leadership skills, you will have success in influencing the attitudes and actions of our employees both through the demonstration of specific tasks and through your own behavior and spirit. Furthermore, an effective Assistant Manager is good at motivating or giving employees a reason to do the job and perform at their best. CONTROLLING: Management means monitoring National Aviation Services progress toward meeting our goals and objectives and those of our customers. You must consider a few things when controlling; Employee involvement: By directly involving employees in decision making, National Aviation Services increases employee power in our organization and improves the flow of information. Customer focus: We must focus on our customer to find out their needs and then provide our service to fulfill those needs. The NAS Assistant manager will decide the level of work delegated to the shift supervisors whom has completed training in all the required courses and procedures. Responsible for maintaining trained Interior Aircraft Cleaners, Exterior Aircraft Cleaners, Building Maintenance staff, Leads, and Supervisors. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for the new hire training and is responsible for ongoing training and all NAS and client recurrent training classes. Excellent communication skills are mandatory with the NAS Station Manager, Customer Management, and NAS staff; Communication is a must and cannot be violated in any way, shape or form. Communication plays a very high role in this position. Must complete all daily required reports, aircraft reports, daily timesheets, etc. Responsible for monitoring and ordering through the correct process of all NAS and Customer cleaning supplies, mechanics parts, uniforms, vests, etc.; Must have a firm knowledge of the products and supplies, as well as the amount to keep in stock; Must have a firm knowledge on confirming and signing purchased orders; Must ensure the NAS corporate support staff gets the correct order forms and that the customer’s order forms are correct and forwarded to the assigned person or department. A firm knowledge and enforcement of all of the NAS Company policies and procedures, as well as all of the NAS Safety and Security policies and procedures is required and mandatory. Dictation of, adherence to and following of each procedure is required. It is a must that the NAS Station Manager needs to be aware that what you are teaching must be practiced. • A firm and clear knowledge of the entire operation including scheduling, GSE, safety, supplies, and employee relations is a must. • Familiarity of the entire customer fleet with a thorough knowledge of all functions of all Aircraft and Building Maintenance is a must; Knowledge of different Aircraft types is necessary. • Communicating in writing via email must be utilized whenever possible. Ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire facility, including the stock room, GSE and all equipment. Audit the aircraft daily to ensure the quality of the provided service. These audits must be attached to the Daily Activity Report, as well as the timesheet report if applicable. Audit the Building Maintenance daily to ensure the quality of the provided service. These audits must be attached to the Daily Activity Report, as well as the timesheet report if applicable. Favoritism in any way, shape or form will not be tolerated. The NAS Assistant Manager is required to always follow all company policies and procedures. NAS Assistant Manager is responsible for providing the quality of service up to company standards for all provided services. It is imperative that prior to any agent being placed on a shift that they are trained on what is expected of them. All training must be recorded and an up-to-date training file must be created. Must monitor the cleanliness and required attire of all staff, including the supervisor team and conducting occasional spot checks on attire. This is not a remote position. This position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week in station. Other duties may be assigned.
