Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service.
  • Assist customers by making product suggestions and filling special orders.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately.
  • Receive customer complaints and ensure they are directed to the Store Director or department leadership as needed.
  • Engage in suggestive selling through telephone, in‑store intercom, and direct customer interaction.
  • Assist with daily department duties including preparation, brewing, serving, and general food handling tasks.
  • Brew coffee and tea according to company standards.
  • Follow proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.
  • Safely operate equipment such as kitchen utensils, ovens, coffee grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain hot and cold foods to company quality and temperature standards.
  • Operate the electronic cash register, total customer transactions, accept payments, and make accurate change.
  • Maintain case cleanliness, product appearance, and overall visual appeal of the Starbucks/coffee bar area.
  • Ensure the work area, equipment, and preparation spaces meet sanitation and safety standards.
  • Maintain proper temperatures during product preparation, display, and storage.
  • Follow correct code‑dating procedures for all products.
  • Support maintaining a safe work environment according to company guidelines.
  • Assist with daily operational planning and help monitor production processes following company procedures.
  • Assist with building product displays, rotating stock, and discarding spoiled or outdated product.
  • Support inventory control practices to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Stock, rotate, and help maintain a well-organized cooler and preparation area.
  • Support preparation of sales and inventory reports as directed.
  • Participate in physical inventory every four weeks.
  • Understand and follow opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide support to department leadership by helping train new employees on store policies, sales techniques, and record‑keeping procedures.
  • Assist with onboarding tasks as directed by the department manager.
  • Maintain working knowledge of duties performed by all team members.
  • Support communication of product standards, department expectations, and company procedures.
  • Assist with receiving duties, including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
  • Follow product temperature, storage, and packaging guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate department logs and paperwork, including daily sheets, production charts, and sales/labor documents.
  • Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and code‑dating standards.
  • Support shrink reduction by following proper preparation, rotation, storage, and handling procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of cost‑control practices and assist in executing them daily.
