Role Overview The Assistant Site Director - Grocery Stores oversees daily store operations by maintaining a safe, compliant, and well‑staffed environment; managing inventory and administrative processes; supporting facility and customer issue resolution; collaborating across functions; and leading a high‑performing team through clear goals, feedback, and a positive, mission‑driven culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Minimum Food Handler Certification
  • Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day
  • Climb up and down up to 3 flights of stairs at a time
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Background check
  • Drug testing

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Associate's Degree (AA) 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Preferred SERV Safe Manager Certification

Responsibilities

  • Support overall store operations and maintain a clean, secure, and safe environment. Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety standards, and food safety protocols. Ensure facility repairs are completed and follow best practices to pursue efficiencies and safety. Ensure adequate staffing and high levels of client satisfaction. Oversee store in absence of the Site Director and partners with supervisory chain on situations of risk, including conflict resolution with customers, staff, or vendors. Effectively delivers timely written and verbal reporting of store operations to WIC leadership team and other stakeholders, as needed. Maintain a flexible schedule as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Participate in all aspects of the inventory management within the store, coordinating the ordering, receiving, distribution, and return processes. Support monthly inventory audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data. Assist with reconciling inventory discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain visual merchandising standards and stock levels by directing staff and participating in daily activities such as stocking, lifting, and handling inventory.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and data as required by external entities and internal organizational guidelines. Manage and performs an array of administrative tasks, including collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data to comply with funding requirements. Work with external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally to ensure operational efficiency.
