As Assistant Service Supervisor, you'll work alongside an experienced Service Manager, developing the skills and experience needed to advance in property management. You'll be hands-on with technical work while learning to coordinate teams, manage operations, and deliver the kind of resident experience that makes communities thrive.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of service technician or maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Trade/Technical/Vocational school education
  • EPA 608 Certification (minimum Type II required)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • CPO certification (if required in your area)
  • Ability to commute to Downtown LA (90017)
  • Solid technical knowledge across multiple maintenance trades
  • Comfortable with technology: Yardi or property management software, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong customer service mindset; you care about making residents happy
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and participate in on-call rotation
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds and work on ladders
  • Cool under pressure with excellent problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Transform vacant apartments into welcoming homes through skilled painting, repairs, and quality finishes
  • Respond to resident service requests with speed and professionalism
  • Apply your diverse maintenance expertise: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, pool care, and appliance repair
  • Keep grounds, amenities, and common areas in pristine condition
  • Support the Service Manager in coordinating maintenance team activities
  • Help manage vendor relationships and inventory systems
  • Participate in scheduling and tracking preventative maintenance
  • Learn budget awareness by identifying and reporting major repair needs
  • Join the emergency on-call rotation to support residents when they need help most
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that turns residents into long-term community members
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes and housing regulations
  • Represent FAM Residential with professionalism and pride
