About The Position

If you are passionate about providing reliable administrative support and helping maintain an efficient, organized environment for both staff and the individuals we serve, COMHAR invites you to join our IBHS Children Service team as an Assistant Service Coordinator for BHTs I. The Assistant Service Coordinator for Behavioral Health Technicians I, under the direction of the Service Coordinator for Behavioral Health Technicians, is responsible for supporting Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), support service delivery in meeting programmatic, and administrative goals. The Assistant Service Coordinator for Behavioral Health Technicians I will conduct on-site evaluation of BHT support service activities; determine conformance with stated standards; identify problem areas in the delivery of services; analyze BHT staffing patterns, work process, and administrative operation and procedures. This position has additional job duties and responsibilities specifically related to the areas of staffing of BHT.

Requirements

  • The Assistant Service Coordinator for Behavioral Health Technicians shall meet one of the following:
  • Have certification as a BCaBA.
  • Have certification as an RBT.
  • Have certification as a BCAT.
  • Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
  • Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong reading and writing skills is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license referred but not required. (Must have your own vehicle and be able to move about COMHAR service areas throughout the day to provide appropriate oversight and coordination and meet job duties as needed and required.)

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and conduct random summer and school (fall/winter/spring) site visits to assess BHTs services; conduct unannounced site visits, as necessary.
  • Document site visits by the following workday.
  • Ensure that BHTs are assigned within the prescribed timeframe and adhere to the agency mandates and standards regarding operation of Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) programs.
  • Assist agency in implementing plans to address challenges.
  • Assist agency in accessing professional development.
  • Raise commonly shared programmatic challenges to the staffing agencies.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of programs and activities to raise public awareness of and support for CASSP principles.
  • Attending interagency/community/school meetings, as applicable.
  • Complete special projects relevant to the Children Services Department as directed by Service Coordinator for Behavioral Health Technicians. Perform any other agency related duties or special projects as directed by Service Coordinator for Behavioral Health Technicians including but not limited to: census report completion, filing, review and monitoring of BHT supervision reports, and staff development.
