Job Overview The Assistant, Marketplace Seller Acquisition & Business Development, supports the growth of Macy’s Marketplace. This entrepreneurial role requires strong communication and analytical skills to identify, source, and secure lasting partnerships with new Marketplace sellers for Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. The Assistant reports to the Director of Marketplace Seller Acquisition & Business Development and collaborates closely with Digital, Merchandising, and other cross-functional partners across the enterprise to execute the Marketplace growth strategy. Externally, the Assistant ensures the acquisition of sellers that align with the Marketplace curation strategy and directly contributes to scaling this innovative business.

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel
  • Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms
  • Requires close vision
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director, Marketplace Seller Acquisition & Business Development in executing the Marketplace growth strategy effectively.
  • Recruit sellers and continuously refine the Marketplace seller acquisition process to drive efficiency and success.
  • Contribute to defining and measuring how Macy’s Inc. can best serve the seller community.
  • Help implement the strategy for category, curation, and merchandising, focusing on recruiting strategic sellers to enhance the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the Merchant organization to translate merchant goals into actionable initiatives on the Marketplace platform.
  • Build a deep understanding of the Macy’s brand and customer base to ensure the Marketplace aligns with brand values and customer expectations.
  • Manage administrative tasks required to support the ongoing growth of the Marketplace.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
