About The Position

City Market, Onion River Co-op is seeking an Assistant Security Manager who is responsible for supporting the Security team and various storewide aspects of City Market operations in multiple locations. This position provides a high degree of safety and support for shoppers, employees, and guests of the Co-op with an emphasis on customer service. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years retail or related management experience including but not limited to: hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Minimum of 2 years security related experience which includes the use of CCTV security systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service-related employment preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Public speaking, presentation, and customer service skills are essential.
  • This position will be required to work at other City Market locations for coverage or to attend required meetings, trainings, etc. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Nice To Haves

  • LPC, LPQ, or other equivalent Loss Prevention certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain presence throughout all store locations, inside and out. Commitment to a minimum of 85% of shift working throughout the building and on the sales floor, enhancing a positive customer experience and supporting staff.
  • Apprehend shoplifters, when applicable. Investigate, resolve, document and report all incidents of compromised safety at City Market including but not limited to: shoplifting, internal theft, deliberate damage to product or company property and any other suspicious or illegal incidents while following proper procedures, guidelines and policies.
  • Develop and maintain two-store knowledge and awareness.
  • Document and report all incidents and events related to security accordingly.
  • Investigate disturbances and warn violators of infractions such as loitering, smoking, and disorderly conduct.
  • Key person for emergency response, in absence of Store Manager or Security Manager.
  • Ensure accurate information is gathered in response to security concerns in a timely manner and maintain accurate documentation per department procedures. Assist with the development and implementation of storewide security trainings.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and delivery of storewide operating procedures, plans and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of the business.
  • Provide daily updates to operations management, Senior Management, and Executive Management teams and inform Security Manager of any personnel or operational challenges.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule. Weekends are required.
