About The Position

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a Full Time Assistant Security Manager. As the Assistant Security Manager, you will assist the Security Manager in all aspects of venue security operations and life safety efforts to ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable guest experience for all internal and external guests of the Fox Theatre. The Assistant Security Manager will achieve this through the support of the Security Manager and the effective management of all Fox Theatre security personnel, relationships with life safety agencies including police, fire, medical, and government agencies, and the establishment and enforcement of security policies and procedures throughout the organization. The Assistant Security Manager will assist in staffing, onboarding, hiring and event day operations while retaining the typical responsibilities of a full-time security officer. This position is also responsible for the effective coordination of communication both within the Security Department and with other Fox Theatre departments and will serve as a Fox Theatre liaison regarding the scheduling of all third party life safety services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Currently enrolled college students encouraged to apply;
  • 1-3 Years in Venue Management, Event Planning, Guest Services, Hospitality or a related field;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Effective communicator and creative thinker, with the ability to think big and implement a vision;
  • Ability to work in ambiguous and changing environments with little direction;
  • Highly detail oriented and organized; must be able to time manage, multi-task, and oversee several projects and tasks at once;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace;
  • Must be able to remain calm and assertive when dealing with angry, unruly, and/or emotional guests during times of heightened and intense interactions;
  • Must possess high ethical standards and ability to work under pressure and maintain strict company, staff, and guest confidentiality;
  • The ability to interface with and work alongside external and/or 3rd-party contracted security personnel;
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CPR / AED / First Aid certification. Must retain credentials throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate' s or Bachelor's Degree;
  • Prior formalized security or public safety training preferred;
  • Experience in CCTV systems, Computerized Access Control, and security alarm systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and coordinates monthly staff schedule for daily operations, private, public and Fox operating events;
  • Develop, implement and manage with the assistance of HR, a training program that incorporates but is not limited to: New hire training, Security specific training, Continuous education, Life-safety training;
  • Collaborate with the Security Manager and Part Security Supervisors through consistent updates to department manuals and training materials based on evolving Security Operations procedures and protocols;
  • Assist the Security Manager in providing leadership and direction to the security department by providing day to day oversight on operations, performance management, and ensuring adherence to security protocols;
  • Participate in the recommendation and execution of efficiencies or increased service deliveries within the department for enhanced effectiveness and productivity;
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are upheld while also matching the needs of each event with staff capabilities;
  • Provide administrative and event support for all parts of the Security Operations Department as needed, including the Full Time Security Staff, Part Time Security, and Contract Security needs;
  • Regularly conduct security inspections and audits to identify vulnerability and breaches in security measures;
  • Investigate security incidents to determine root causes, gather evidence, and implement corrective actions;
  • Prepare comprehensive security reports that detail security incidents, investigations, and overall program performances;
  • Maintain security documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned.
