About The Position

Join the team behind one of Atlanta’s most iconic cultural landmarks. The Fox Theatre is seeking a dynamic, experienced Security Manager to lead venue security operations and life safety initiatives. As a Security Manager you are responsible for managing all aspects of venue security operations and life safety efforts to ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable guest experience for all internal and external guests of the Fox Theatre.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, utilizing best practices, procedures and ethics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate calmly and clearly in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in major hospitality or live entertainment security.
  • Experience preferred in CCTV systems, Computerized Access Control, and security alarm systems, Venue Management.
  • 5+ years progressive security/police operations experience.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Requires work inside and outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions.
  • Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs.
  • Must be able to lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds and must be able to pull/push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary.
  • This position requires the employee to be physically on-site to perform their required duties.
  • Off-site requirements include but are not limited to traveling for education and training, site visits, and meetings.
  • Must be able to work extended or irregular hours including frequent evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and alignment with Fox Theatre service standards.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise high‑quality security personnel for event security, crowd management, guest screening, and 24/7 access control and video monitoring.
  • Ensure all security and life safety staff meet organizational policies, service expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the 24/7 Security Operations Center, including emergency notifications, response coordination, fire panel alarms, and monitoring of building systems in collaboration with Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Plan, communicate, and execute security plans for all public and private events.
  • Serve as the liaison to touring security, clients, tour managers, and traveling crews.
  • Collaborate with Guest Experience leadership to ensure security strategies reflect event type, audience behavior, and venue‑wide operational needs.
  • Review incident reports, security breaches, and internal investigations.
  • Resolve security incidents and potential criminal activity when possible.
  • Prepare routine security updates and risk reports for senior leadership and maintain current public safety information.
  • Analyze data, incident trends, and operational feedback to recommend and implement security improvements, including technology upgrades, physical security enhancements, and system redesigns.
  • Provide direction for security‑related construction projects, specifications, and timelines.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security guidelines, policies, and procedures covering emergency preparedness, risk management, preventive maintenance, business continuity, and accessibility.
  • Lead emergency preparedness training, drills, and updates to emergency response manuals.
  • Ensure all security staff understand venue policies, expectations for tone and professionalism, and the critical role guest perception plays in creating a positive experience.
  • Co‑develop safety and service‑focused training with Guest Experience leadership, including topics such as building safety, de‑escalation, conflict resolution, and customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with life‑safety and public safety partners, including the Atlanta Police Department, Midtown Blue, Atlanta Fire Department, medical providers, and government agencies such as Homeland Security, GBI, and FBI.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, providing venue-wide leadership and operational oversight during events.
