Overview: The Assistant Scheduler supports the development and maintenance of project schedules for assigned projects, assisting in coordination efforts to help ensure timelines and project requirements are met. Essential Functions: 1. Project Scheduling Responsibilities: 90% Assists Schedulers and Sr. Schedulers in developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), helping to establish realistic project timelines and milestones based on project scope and contractual obligations. Collaborates with the Estimating and Project Management teams to gather the information to build and maintain schedules. Coordinates with project managers and field teams to integrate project plans into master schedules. Generates three-week look ahead schedules for assigned projects. Monitors and updates schedules to reflect changes in scope, delays, or other adjustments. Accurately updates activities, remaining duration, and percentage complete based on field reports or tracking. Facilitates communication between project teams, subcontractors, and clients regarding schedule-related matters. Communicates schedule status updates to stakeholders and management regularly. Attends on site project meetings. Prepares agenda and assists in internal meetings as needed. Works with Project Managers to identify critical path activities and, when directed, prepares documentation to accomplish these activities and submits documentation to the Project Manager for final approval. 2. Performs other duties as assigned by management. 10% Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Exposure to scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and familiarity with project management methodologies required. Prior experience in construction as an Administrative Assistant, Assistant Project Manager, or in a similar role within the electrical contracting or construction industry preferred. Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality in scheduling and timeline management. Effective reasoning and judgement abilities. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or other related software. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Capable of reading, interpreting, and understanding all contract documents and requirements. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the construction process. Able to demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of trade terms, material, bidding methods, codes, contract, and specification language. Able to complete scheduling related continuous education. Able to work overtime as needed during peak project phases or deadlines. Work Environment: Office environment with frequent travel required. Physical Demands: Must be able to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity associated with computer data entry required. Must be able to talk and hear. Must be able to frequently sit. Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, crouch or crawl, stoop, and kneel. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle to travel to and from job sites. Must be able to safely maneuver in a construction environment. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception are required.
