About The Position

We are looking for an Assistant Sales Director who can operate as a trusted leader and partner to dealership management. This role is built for someone who understands variable operations, can step into store-level challenges, and can help drive execution across the group. The Assistant Sales Director will work closely with General Sales Managers, New Car Managers, Used Car Managers, and executive leadership to improve sales performance, strengthen operational discipline, and build consistency across stores. This person will help lead forecasting discussions, support sales leadership development, take ownership of key priorities, and serve as a hands-on resource for dealership leaders. This is not a purely administrative role. It is a leadership position for someone who can coach managers, solve problems, improve execution, and help move the organization forward. Position Impact This role is intended for a high-capacity sales leader who can strengthen store-level execution while also helping develop the next level of variable operations leadership across the group. The right candidate will be able to step into operational challenges, develop dealership leaders, and drive meaningful performance improvement across multiple stores.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in automotive variable operations.
  • Strong understanding of new and used vehicle sales, forecasting, inventory strategy, and dealership performance management.
  • Experience coaching and developing sales managers or other variable operations leaders.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a multi-store environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accountability, business judgment, and operational awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales Director and dealership leadership teams to execute top sales priorities.
  • Support and develop General Sales Managers, New Car Managers, and Used Car Managers.
  • Lead and support new and used vehicle forecasting discussions.
  • Help identify operational gaps and improve execution across stores.
  • Train and develop sales leaders on best practices, accountability, and performance management.
  • Support inventory strategy, merchandising standards, and overall variable operations performance.
  • Serve as a hands-on resource for store-level problem solving and leadership support.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on sales processes, leadership development, and performance improvement initiatives.
