About The Position

Assist with all aspects of running and coaching the women's rowing program. This includes but is not limited to recruiting, coaching varsity and walk-on athletes, fundraising, administrative duties, and equipment maintenance and repair. Together with the head coach and other assistant, you'll be responsible for ensuring the successful development of the women's rowing team, and all that it entails.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate
  • Experience as coach or athlete in rowing
  • Travel, weekend, and early morning/late evening work.
  • Schedule is often varied and not routine.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching Novice and Varsity athletes.
  • Planning and executing water and land practice for both groups based on skillset and needs of each individual group.
  • Recruit athletes - both rowers and out of sport, and on and off campus.
  • Visit practices of local sports teams (rowing and other sports) as well as out of region rowing teams to identify and recruit prospects.
  • Manage equipment upkeep and repair. This includes boats, launches, oars, ergs, technology, etc.
  • Develop a systematic plan to ensure all equipment is being maintained and replaced on a schedule and is in top working order.
  • Administrative work. Includes compliance work, fundraising, alumni outreach, planning, and other duties.
  • Other Duties as Assigned - Dependent on day, needs, and candidates skills.
