About The Position

Join the 17-time Learfield Director's Cup winning Laker Athletics department anchored in the relentless pursuit of greatness. This position is responsible for all phases of the program including organization and administration, quality student-athlete development and recruitment, fiscal management, viable fund raising and public relations, and other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach. Salary & Benefits: Minimum starting salary of $50,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, generous employer retirement contributions, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level.
  • A thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes and NCAA compliance with the highest ethical standards.
  • Driving a company/university vehicle may be required.
  • A valid driver’s license is a requirement and an MVR needs to be conducted upon hire.
  • Must have the physical stamina to work long hours and/or more than 5 days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coaching wide receivers or offensive skill players at the collegiate or commensurate level.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development and preparation of offensive practice and game plans.
  • Provide on-field instruction to players.
  • Coach players individually and in groups, monitor academic progress, and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the university's academic and athletic requirements.
  • Assist with academic support, monitoring study table, mentoring cohort, and serve as liaison to the Laker Academic Success Center.
  • Assist with camp coordination and other program fundraising needs.
  • Ensure the program adheres to all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
  • Serve as a GVSU ambassador, engage with media, and participate in fundraising and community events.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
