About The Position

Assistant Residential Director - Children's Services Full-Time | Randolph, MA Evening & Weekend Hours Required (Flex Schedule Available) Lead with Heart. Support with Purpose. Grow with Us. Are you an experienced leader who thrives in a mission-driven environment? The May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a dedicated Assistant Residential Director to help oversee daily operations across three adolescent group homes. You'll work closely with residential leadership, clinical teams, and families to ensure safe, supportive, and high-quality programming for the children and teens in our care.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in residential programs or youth services. Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly valued.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Behavioral Knowledge: Familiarity with ABA practices and confidence in guiding staff through de-escalation and physical management procedures.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and comfort with scheduling, reporting, and documentation systems.
  • Tech Proficiency: Basic computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office and scheduling platforms.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • License: Valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to travel between program sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Empower and Support: Supervise and mentor Program Managers, fostering a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and compassion across homes.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, maintenance, and day-to-day logistics to keep homes running smoothly and safely.
  • Compliance Leader: Maintain all regulatory documentation and ensure programs meet state and organizational standards.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solver: Work with cross-functional teams-including Clinical, Quality Improvement, and Facilities-to support staff and resolve operational issues.
  • Crisis Response: Serve as part of the residential on-call rotation, providing guidance, leadership, and hands-on support when challenges arise.
  • Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with guardians and caregivers through clear communication and timely updates.
  • Event Coordination: Help plan and implement special events and seasonal programming to enrich residential life for our students.
