About The Position

The Assistant Residence Manager - Mental Health is responsible for overseeing daily shift operations, ensuring the accomplishment of individuals' goals, coordinating staff orientation and training, and maintaining all necessary records and reports. This role also involves managing contacts with outside vendors, performing the duties of a Mental Health Advisor I, monitoring the building's operation and supplies, and participating in Agency activities. Additionally, the position provides supervisory coverage and supports Mental Health Advisors during a rotating weekly on-call schedule, ensuring after-hours availability for crisis intervention, resident support, and direct service provision as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have QMHSP status: Bachelor's degree in a human services related field, or; an associate's degree in a human services related field and three years experience in human services, or; a high school diploma and five years’ experience in human services;
  • Travel is required. Must have a valid NY State Drivers’ License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily shift operations of the residence including assistance with interviewing and hiring, scheduling and coverage, staff meetings, performance evaluation and the disciplinary process.
  • Ensure the accomplishment of individuals' goals and behavior plans; ensure that the Treatment or Rehabilitation Plan is implemented.
  • Coordinate staff orientation and training activities.
  • Maintain the timely completion of all necessary records and reports.
  • Accomplish effective outside contacts with all vendors and maintain accurate purchasing records and petty cash.
  • Perform all duties of the Mental Health Advisor I including, (but not limited to): promoting the individuals' independence by implementing the Treatment or Rehabilitation Plan, attending to personal, self-care and other program needs that the individuals cannot independently accomplish and overseeing the safety and well being of the individuals.
  • Monitor operation and condition of the building and supplies.
  • Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings and committees.
  • Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Center’s culture, values and mission.
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Center regulations and operating standards.
