About The Position

Provides administrative and technical support to the Registrar in the development and administration of policies and procedures for the acquisition, de-accession, loan, receipt, shipment, and care and handling of museum collections and individual artifacts. Assists in the development of forms and recordkeeping systems to maintain documentation and inventory of collection materials and artifacts. Mains and reconciles central museum registration numbering system for collection objects. Assists in maintaining current inventories of collection objects at all collection storage facilities and aids in developing long range plans for museum storage needs. Coordinates these activities with curators, collection managers, conservators, and senior museum staff within the Museum. Process new acquisitions. Process Loans. Support exhibit and public programs and collections management divisions as required. Remains current in the museum registrar field through review of museum periodicals, attending professional conferences, and other continuing education programs, as appropriate. Receives OSHA required annual physical for lab technician.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.
