The Counseling Center strives to promote the optimal health of all currently enrolled WCU students through the provision of quality and culturally competent mental health services and education for the campus community. Through a coordinated team approach to client services, the Counseling Center provides optimal coordinated care, ensures continuity of services, and facilitates and monitors response to mental health needs to support student success. The Assistant Referral Specialist position coordinates case management, monitors referrals, promotes coordination of care through collaboration among departments and agencies, ensures open communication, and facilitates coordination and continuity of care in complex cases. This position works to understand the diverse needs and backgrounds of WCU students and collaborates with faculty, department psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, other University health care professionals and staff to provide optimal care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience supporting college students, working with insurance companies and answering benefits questions, a knowledge of mental health resources in Chester County and the surrounding areas; and commitment to a providing coordinated care for a diverse campus student community in collaboration with faculty, staff and other University partners.
