A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT RECREATION PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR As a ASSISTANT RECREATION PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR performs the duties of planning and delivering of recreational programs for youth ages 4-12. Work involves overseeing and maintaining assigned facility, and park dealing with the general public, maintaining safety of members, public and staff, maintaining a high profile in the community, and supervising participants in recreation and education activities. May supervise work of others and serve as a lead worker providing direction to others. a. Prepare and organize registrations, supplies and special events. Maintain facilities and monitor park and building for safety. Must attend in-services, and weekly staff meetings. Assist in implementation of Community Recreation Programs. Assist in team sports practices and tournaments. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in operations of youth programming, recreational activities, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
