Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills with a basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • At least 2+ years of prior relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Willingness to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with USTA Raceway and Pathway programs preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a resort, racing, or casino setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in overseeing racing and paddock crews, focusing on operational and performance management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with the organization of races by utilizing the USTA ETrack system to record entries and compile race cards, ensuring accuracy, compliance with race conditions, and addressing any conflicts of interest.
  • Manage the department's labor budget by creating schedules based on business needs and reviewing/approving time worked and time-off requests.
  • Calculate purses for various race types, including Stake Races and Late Closers, while ensuring proper payment execution for all involved parties.
  • Attend and observe night races to document activities, provide support to horsemen, and compile post-race summaries for reporting purposes
