About The Position

Position Summary... The Assistant Quality Control (QC) Manager, Supply Chain supports quality, food safety, and operational excellence within a distribution center environment. This role helps ensure product integrity (including cold chain compliance), audit readiness, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement across receiving, storage, ripening/conditioning (as applicable), and shipping operations. The Assistant QC Manager partners cross-functionally to identify risks, solve problems, and drive consistent execution of standards and will manage a team of associates. What you'll do... Quality & Audits: Audit inbound/stored product; maintain audit records in approved tools; perform basic inspections/testing; address quality issues and time/temperature risks; coach associates on inspection tools. Food Safety & Cold Chain: Control cold chain and cross-contamination risks; ensure sanitary conditions, ServSafe-aligned practices, and PPE compliance; follow applicable laws/policies. Documentation & Data: Oversee data collection/retention; apply recordkeeping best practices; train teams to interpret reports; improve audit/data methods. Process Improvement & Ops Excellence: Identify and implement process/SOP improvements (including tech/automation); support change management; coordinate cross-functionally; flag regulatory risks. Data & Digital: Use data for root cause and decisions; ensure data quality and benchmarks; leverage dashboards; improve/automate data collection. Warehouse Support: Understand end-to-end DC processes; support WMS requirements and mechanization; track KPIs; coordinate equipment/facility needs. Ripening (if applicable): Support ripening plans, forecasting, scheduling, and handling education; adjust for climate/geography impacts. Partnership: Build trusted stakeholder relationships; align on shared goals; proactively bring solutions; advise leaders and communicate impacts. Communication: Lead discussions, influence across teams, and present clear, data-backed recommendations; give/seek timely feedback. What you’ll bring...
