Under the supervision of a higher classified employee, assists crew leaders and management with day to day activities and in his absence performs the duties of the crew leader. Operates various pieces of construction type equipment in the process of maintaining repairing streets, public rights-of-way, buildings, properties and utilities. Performs a variety of tasks to construct, maintain and repair streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, manholes, catch basins, water mains, and sewers. Operates equipment in the removal, collection, disposal of solid waste, bio solids, snow, ice and the loading and spreading of various types of material related to work assignments. Performs general maintenance, minor repairs and cleanup of equipment. Works to maintain and repair equipment and machinery at the wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant and pumping stations. Performs other related activities as assigned.
