About The Position

Our team of experienced professionals is well-versed in a wide range of roofing systems, and our fully equipped sheet metal shop allows us to handle standard fabrications with precision and efficiency. We are seeking a Assistant Project Manager for our commercial roofing shop in Deerfield Beach. The Assistant Project Manager plays a key support role for the Production team, helping keep projects organized, on track, and running smoothly. This position works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to handle day‑to-day coordination, jobsite communication, and project paperwork. This position will answer questions, share information with the field and office teams, and assist with the administrative side of project operations. The role also supports customer communication, helps keep documentation accurate, and contributes to strong, successful project outcomes. This Assistant Project Manager reports to the Production Department Manager. and will be part of the team that keeps work moving, supports continuous improvement, and helps ensure projects finish on time and with quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of construction industry experience with emphasis on all facets of business including but not limited to customer relations, project administration.
  • Other critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking, follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure in a timely manner, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Comfortable visiting actual job sites periodically
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple concurrent construction projects through daily coordination, communication, and document management.
  • Maintain organized project files, including checklists, inspection reports, drawings, submittals, and all required documentation.
  • Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, RFPs, meeting minutes, punch lists, and other project correspondence.
  • Assist with project mobilization, ensuring materials, equipment, rentals, and jobsite setup needs are met.
  • Order project materials using approved PO procedures and vendor lists; verify pricing and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders, subcontracts, AIA documents, change orders, and owner‑direct purchases (including OCIPs/MCIPs).
  • Support construction schedules, cost control, quality assurance, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate property/building information needed for project integration and execution.
  • Monitor project progress through site visits, schedule reviews, and cost tracking.
  • Ensure approvals from internal teams, clients, and governmental agencies.
  • Review, manage, and approve invoices, requisitions, and change order work.
  • Participate in project meetings; document responsibilities and track action items.
  • Assist with month‑end reporting, WIP updates, and cost/revenue forecasting.
  • Ensure timely review and distribution of as‑built drawings, manuals, and closeout documents.
  • Provide effective team support, maintain professional appearance, and perform additional duties as assigned.
