JOB OVERVIEW The Assistant Project Manager, Program Investment Planning is responsible for supporting the Office of the Chief Program Officer with strategic programmatic investment planning including through spend tracking, process improvement development, and corresponding change management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in project management, business/program operations, and/or related responsibilities.
  • Good project management skills with the ability to set priorities and execute on a workplan in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a proactive and collaborative style
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to run basic analysis using pivot tables in Excel.
  • Ability and appetite to learn and assimilate new information and think holistically through complex problems with technical and non-technical components.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Perform all job responsibilities with respect, fairness, consistency, and inclusion.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to write professional and concise emails.
  • Well organized, able to work independently, excellent attention to detail, and strong critical thinking skills

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s/Advanced degree and 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identify barriers and opportunities through analysis and research.
  • Coordinate with NYSERDA program teams to develop program funding allocations and associated descriptions for operating and investment plans.
  • Participate in the development of annual programmatic operating plans, public stakeholder meetings, public comment analysis, and required NYSERDA Board material, including those activities required for funds associated with the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
  • Coordinate closely with program teams and the Finance team to monitor program spend rates and track changes in funding allocations throughout the fiscal year.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of process improvements for investment planning management, reporting, and public engagement.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets or other tools that track NYSERDA’s comprehensive programmatic portfolio with funding sources to enable strategic programmatic planning.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with program team members to understand their investment planning needs and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute to a team culture of openness and collaboration.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
