About The Position

We are Urgently Hiring an Assistant Project Manager Intern for a Summer 2026 internship at our office in Largo, FL and job sites around the Tampa Bay area! Please note- this role is on-site Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm Why BCH? What you will be doing: Hands-on learning experience in project management, estimating, and service operations, providing valuable industry knowledge and practical skills.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity using Bluebeam Revu 20.
  • Willingness to learn, collaborate, and be part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), Construction Management, or a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • May involve travel depending on project location.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Become proficient in reading Mechanical and Plumbing (M/P) engineering construction documents including project plans and specifications.
  • Understand the different engineered M/P building systems between market types; Institutional (Hospitals, Healthcare, and Prisons), Laboratory, Industrial (Manufacturing and Food & Beverage), Educational (Higher education and K-12), Commercial (Business & Retail).
  • Identify different HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing systems.
  • Gather information on the approved use of these materials, cost, subcontractor services, and labor.
  • Understand the coordination between other construction disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Low Voltage, Fire Protection, and Civil).
  • Active construction site job walks to see installation of M/P systems.
  • Assist with writing, tracking, and logging RFI’s and Submittals.
  • Assist in releasing, tracking, and scheduling delivery equipment.
  • Assist in completing project close out documents.
  • Contact vendors to gather pricing and availability information for parts.
  • Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning to develop estimating skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be comfortable speaking with vendors, sub-contractors, and MOST importantly our customers.
  • Develop and present PowerPoint to present your summer experience to BCH team at the last staff meeting.
