About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Program Manager to support the leadership and operational oversight of a large, multi-site team delivering high-volume, name-based background checks for the FBI’s National Name Check Program. The APM supports the Program Manager in ensuring contract performance, production throughput, quality assurance, and effective workforce management across all contractor sites. The Assistant Program Manager acts as a key coordination point between government leadership, internal teams, and site supervisors, helping translate program requirements into daily operational execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public administration, criminal justice, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting federal programs, operations, or contract management; experience in high-volume analytical or vetting environments is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple sites and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with performance tracking, reporting, workflow tools, or operational dashboards.
  • Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one, if .

  • National Name Check Experience or Experience with analytical FBI programs.
  • Familiarity with processing name check requests.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager in serving as a primary liaison with the CO, COR, and government program office.
  • Assist with preparing and delivering status updates, briefings, responses to data calls, and contract reporting.
  • Coordinate issue resolution and elevate risks or emerging challenges to the Program Manager for government engagement.
  • Help oversee day-to-day operations across contractor sites to ensure timely and accurate delivery of name-check products.
  • Monitor workflow, production queues, and staffing levels; coordinate adjustments to meet evolving mission requirements.
  • Track performance metrics, throughput, and error rates; assist in implementing corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Support workforce planning activities, including staffing projections, scheduling, shift coverage, and surge planning.
  • Assist with onboarding, training coordination, and communication with team leads and supervisors.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to staff as delegated by the Program Manager; help ensure a productive and compliant work environment.
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager and team leads to reinforce accuracy, completeness, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor adherence to federal policies, program procedures, and security requirements.
  • Identify potential performance risks or operational bottlenecks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with maintaining program documentation, SOPs, dashboards, and performance trackers.
  • Support cost, schedule, and staffing analysis; contribute to forecasts and variance explanations.
  • Prepare draft reports, monthly deliverables, and data summaries for Program Manager and government review.
