The Assistant Program Manager at TRC Companies, Inc. is responsible for leading the delivery of energy efficiency programs targeted at the multi-family market sector. This role involves overseeing multiple projects from inception through to Measurement & Verification and incentive payment, ensuring that projects meet technical and budget requirements while managing client expectations and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Work with our cross-functional team to build an energy efficiency program targeted at multi-family properties.
  • Oversee a pipeline of multi-family energy efficiency projects including ASHRAE II/III energy audits, retro-commissioning, energy savings calculations, MEP design, bids, construction administration, and commissioning.
  • Perform technical review of energy efficiency project submittals from application receipt to the release of the incentive payment.
  • Ensure projects meet technical requirements, budget requirements, and timelines; provide regular reporting on energy savings goals, customer projects, and budgets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Use best practices in project management, risk assessment, and quality control.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the team's efficiency, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and senior management.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in construction, Engineering, Sustainability, or similar studies.
  • 7+ years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or related sectors, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency and conservation in multi-family buildings.
  • Working knowledge of construction invoice documents, equipment specifications, and operational functions.
  • Hands-on management experience in a fast-paced consulting environment with exceptional attention to detail and client service.
  • Strong technical writing skills and aptitude for communicating technical and programmatic concepts.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing talent.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
  • CEM or CEA accreditation
  • EIT or PE accreditation
  • Energy efficiency program experience
  • Experience with the multifamily market sector
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining customer, client, and partner relationships
  • Professional presence with desire to improve processes and exceed program savings goals
