About The Position

The Cornerstone Assistant Program Director plays a pivotal role at Roads to Success, dedicated to the overall development, implementation, and supervision of the Boston Secor Community Center, while enhancing the well-being and success of our students and their families, particularly those living at or below the poverty line. This role encompasses the management and coordination of a comprehensive array of high-quality innovative programming for our elementary, middle school, high school and adult participants. A key aspect of this position involves developing community partnerships and leverage resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in youth services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with the community, key stakeholders, and available resources.
  • Experience in designing, planning, and implementing structured programs.
  • Supervisory experience with more than 5 program staff.
  • Budget, contract, and grant management experience.
  • Knowledge of the public education system and positive youth development practices.
  • Familiarity with DYCD programming regulations and online systems.
  • NYC Dept. of Health fingerprint clearance and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance.
  • NYS Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • CPR and Advanced First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Complete SACC Program Director's (30-hour) credentials.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to full-time and part-time program staff.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, orienting, and evaluating program staff for center-based after-school programs, evenings, Saturdays, and summer day camp.
  • Provide direct/indirect supervision of program staff to ensure the achievement of daily/weekly/monthly goals, targets, and performance outcomes.
  • Support participant recruitment and retention strategies using the DYCD online report.
  • Serve as a liaison for tenant association, parents, and community entities.
  • Participate in staff mentoring, coaching, and development activities.
  • Support the facilitation team meetings and support proper execution of all staff meetings.
  • Engage community stakeholders, including residents, businesses, leaders, and youth, to address community needs.
  • Advocate for program needs through coalition building, feedback surveys, and program assessments.
  • Seek partnership opportunities to leverage additional resources for programs.
  • Organize quarterly community events, special events, and workshop series.
  • Assess program effectiveness quarterly to ensure alignment with community needs.
  • Ensure compliance with attendance tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Respond to electronic and phone communications within 2 business days.
  • Ensure compliance with DOH School-Aged Childcare and DOH Summer Day Camp regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate and execute major events and activities in collaboration with the Cornerstone Program Director.
  • Support with the management of the CACFP Food Program, including reporting and documentation.
  • Support with the communication with NYCHA and DYCD stakeholders and participate in meetings.
  • Prepare monthly calendars of events, programs, meetings, and activities.
  • Support with ordering supplies for the program.
  • Ensure facilities managers maintain facility logs and ensure timely response to facility issues.
  • Ensure facilities managers maintenance and cleanliness of the facility in coordination with NYCHA & DYCD.
  • Oversee bi-yearly beautification/upgrade projects for the center.
  • Provide support during off-hours and weekends, including managing the summer program.
  • Train direct service staff in proper group supervision of children and trip training.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in first aid and safety kits.
  • Maintain medical and contact information for each participant.
  • Prepare attendance reports and incident/injury logs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations outlined by DYCD, DOHMH, and OCFS.
  • Complete SACC Program Director's Credentials (30-hour training).
  • Receive training in Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse, Neglect, and Maltreatment.
  • Obtain Advanced First Aid and CPR certifications by the American Red Cross.
  • Obtain NYS Food Handler’s Certificate.
