The Department of Philosophy is recruiting for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with interests in any area of philosophy, with current areas of need including areas of political philosophy, metaphysics, philosophy of science, early modern philosophy, philosophy of race and/or gender, aesthetics, and non-Western philosophy. Significant promise of research excellence is a necessary condition for consideration, as is evidence of strong skills in teaching. The successful applicant will normally teach two courses per semester (graduate and/or undergraduate); will be involved in thesis supervision; and will have other standard non-teaching duties such as departmental administration, graduate and undergraduate mentorship, and participation in our department’s vigorous intellectual life.
