The Washington Center for Civics, Culture, and Statesmanship at West Virginia University seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor, with scholarly expertise in the Roman Empire through the Reformation. The preferred start date is August 14, 2026. The Center is devoted to freedom of speech, free inquiry, and intellectual independence. The Center is seeking candidates who resist external pressures and demonstrate independence of mind especially in the midst of recent pressures to suppress certain inquiries and conform to the dominant ideology.
