The Department of Pathology, East Tennessee State University, James H. Quillen College of Medicine, is looking for a forensic pathologist at the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center. The William L. Jenkins Forensic Center (WUFC) is a N.A.M.E.-accredited facility sited on the beautiful James H. Quillen College of Medicine Campus. A complete support staff is in place with five ABMDI-certified medicolegal death investigators, four autopsy technicians, and full administrative support. An excellent benefits package is provided, and there is no state income tax. The Center is responsible for performing approximately 700 forensic examinations a year for the eight counties in upper Northeast Tennessee. This is a non-tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Pathology at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine, with a direct report to the Chair of Pathology. The County Medical Examiner is required by law to investigate all deaths involving a homicide, suspected homicide, suicide, a violent, unnatural, or suspicious death, an unexpected apparent natural death in an adult, sudden unexpected infant and child deaths, deaths believed to represent a threat to public health or safety, and executed prisoners.
