Assistant Professors To help support the work of Chatham University, we have openings for Assistant Professor roles. Duties and Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in general business content with a focus on the intersection of business and sustainability and incorporating sustainable business practices and theories; Teach 18 credits per academic year in business courses including Foundations of Business and Organizational Behavior; Take on an advising load of students; Conduct scholarly research in the field of sustainable business practices and theories and publish findings in professional journals; Evaluate and revise curricula and course content with focus on the intersection of business and sustainability; Administer and grade examinations; Stay informed on changes and innovations in the profession of business sustainability and facilitate active community and university engagement in the field.

Requirements

  • U.S. Ph.D. degree or foreign degree equivalent in Industrial Relations, Organizational Behavior, Management, Business Administration or related sustainable business field and 1 years’ experience teaching business courses in higher education.
  • 1 years’ experience in collaborative research or project work with other faculty, academic staff, or students from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in research methodologies related to employee ownership, social responsibility, social innovation, or philanthropy.
  • Experience analyzing data for research related to sustainable concepts and practices in business as they relate to employee outcomes, workplace participation, or philanthropy.
  • Evidence of recent relevant scholarly publication (within the last 5 years) in academic/scholarly journals on topics related to business sustainability or organizational behavior.
  • Experience applying business concepts in the study or practice of social entrepreneurship, employee ownership, and management sciences.
