Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor- Teaching- School of Social Work at its Detroit campus location. The School of Social Work at Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit, Michigan is committed to community engaged practice within our dynamic urban setting. We invite applications for one teaching faculty position from outstanding candidates with exemplary teaching who add to the collaborative and supportive environment within the SSW. We are currently recruiting one outstanding candidate interested in teaching on campus and who can effectively teach and lead generalist MSW practice courses (individual, family and group), lead and oversee accreditation of school social work courses, and serve as the School Social Work Approval Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience with or strong knowledge of school social work. The position requires a teaching load of seven courses per academic year (fall and winter semesters). This role offers the potential for future leadership responsibilities, including program oversight and strategic input, for candidates demonstrating strong initiative and collaborative leadership skills. The School of Social Work is committed to preparing students for social work practice that promotes wellbeing and social impact across society, with a particular focus on urban communities.
