Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applicants for the Assistant Professor, Research vacancy. The successful candidate would be expected to have a record of research in one of the areas of: pharmaceutics, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and environmental toxicology; A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals; and, experience and leadership in multi-disciplinary collaborations. This role directly supports faculty and student research by providing advanced technical support aligned with their experimental goals. The incumbent's responsibilities will include maintaining and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and performing ongoing maintenance and calibration of the scientific equipment. The incumbent will serve as the primary point of responsibility for these specialized instruments, conducting daily system checks and routine troubleshooting to ensure optimal instrument performance and data accuracy. The Data generated in the laboratory will be routinely used by faculty and graduate students in research, grant submissions, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at scientific meetings. Contribute to collaborative research projects, uphold laboratory safety standards, and offer technical training or mentoring to students when appropriate; Ensure reproducibility and quality across a variety of complex biological samples, playing a pivotal role in supporting both translational and basic science research at the university; Report to the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health; College or university administrative duties may be assigned by either the Dean of the College of Pharmacy or the Chair of the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Assist in the oversight of graduate students in Pharmaceutical Sciences; provide opportunities for graduate students to work and learn in the laboratory as a means of obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy degree; Provide opportunities for professional students to work and learn in the laboratory as a means to enhance their pharmaceutical education; Provides opportunities for post doctoral fellows and other selected colleagues, trainees and students to work and learn in the laboratory; Develop, implement, and complete independent or collaborative research; Maintains adequate grant support for research endeavors; Disseminate new and/or applied knowledge through peer-reviewed publications; and, serve on scientific reviews and editorial boards and present scientific findings at national and international meetings.
