About The Position

The University of St. Thomas (www.stthom.edu), a private Catholic university committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking two Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professors of Psychology beginning Fall 2026. The University enrolls more than 3,500 students at its beautiful campus in Houston's Museum District. This will be a full-time, non-tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology with an annual course load of 24 contact hours at the undergraduate level. Candidates must hold at least a master's in Psychology to be considered for this position. However, a doctorate in Psychology is preferred. The position requires a strong commitment to teaching and a proven record of teaching success. This position will teach required courses, as determined by the Department Chair, as well as have the freedom to propose new courses that fit their expertise and interests. Candidates with a demonstrated record of student engagement will be given priority. The successful candidate is expected to provide service work such as academic advising in support of the department. Requirements

  • M.A in Psychology (area of expertise open)
  • Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) with a standard 24 contact hour teaching load at the undergraduate level
  • Conduct necessary service and maintain an active research portfolio per the current policy for Promotion and Tenure
  • Submit a resume and a cover letter
