About The Position

The Department of Political Science at Midwestern State University invites applications for a full-time 9- month tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2026. As a faculty member in the Department of Political Science you will be expected to: Teach 12 credit hours/4 courses of American national government and Texas government each semester. Communicate and meet with students. Assist with departmental needs. Maintain a regular presence on campus

Requirements

• PhD in Political Science or closely related field (ABD considered with expected completion by August 17, 2026.
• Expertise in the field of American Politics.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
• Evidence of potential for strong scholarly research

• Commitment to undergraduate education.
• The ability to teach courses areas that would add to the Department offerings, such as public administration, public policy, research methods, social movements, or any additional subfield.
• Interest in collaborative research with colleagues and/or students
