Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for an Assistant Professor of Political Science to begin Fall 2026 . Primary duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and mentoring students. A reduced load (2-2 for the first 2 years plus research funds and conference travel money) is provided to new hires to allow them to focus on conducting research and publishing in scholarly journals. Moreover, course buyouts are available when tied to grant funding applied for and obtained by the faculty. Duties also include serving on departmental, college, university, and professional committees as well as mentoring students. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
