About The Position

Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) invites applicants for Assistant Professor of Physics to join the Physics and Pre-Engineering Department, beginning August 1, 2026. Primary responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate-level physics, pre-engineering, and radiation protection/health physics courses, student engagement, service, scholarly activities, and other faculty duties as assigned. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, scholarship, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty). The Physics and Pre-Engineering Department is interested in candidates with experience working with students from various backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for all students, regardless of background.

Requirements

  • The applicant must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field
  • preference will be given to candidates with at least 18 graduate credits in Astronomy or Medical/Health Physics.
