About The Position

The Department of Management in the Phillips School of Business at High Point University is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the promotion path position of Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Global Logistics and related topics. Advising and mentoring undergraduate students, collaborating with faculty on curriculum and program development, service to the school and university, and scholarly research are also expected. The candidate will work collaboratively with faculty across the Department of Management and the Phillips School of Business. The Phillips School of Business embraces a broad range of theoretical and methodological perspectives, values collaborative research, and encourages faculty to work across divisions and specializations. Qualifications At a minimum, candidates must possess an earned master’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Management or a closely related field. An earned doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered) from an accredited institution is preferred but not required. The candidate must have a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework closely related to supply chain or operations management, business management, leadership, organizational behavior, or a related field. Teaching experience at the university level is highly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage in service activities within the university and professional community. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 7 years of Supply Chain industry experience. A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position. Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Teach courses in supply chain management, logistics and distribution, project management, operations management Engage in high-quality research that contributes to courses taught and results in staying abreast of new thought and developments in the fields of supply chain, logistics, warehousing and distribution networks. Develop and update course materials to enhance student learning. Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities. Collaborate with colleagues on research and academic initiatives. Participate in committees within the department, school, and university and participate in professional and governmental organizations as appointed by the Department Chair and/or Associate Dean Should continue to strive to follow the standard requirements for promotion which are stated in the faculty handbook which includes the current teaching philosophy, scholarship, university service, and future development plans with respect to the current areas of teaching and research. Abide by University and School of Business policies Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair and/or the Associate Dean.
