The School of Journalism at the University of Arizona invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice, specializing in video/audio editing and production across various platforms (television, social, digital) and media (news, documentary, sports). The successful candidate will primarily focus on teaching video and audio editing courses as well as courses on television production, podcast production and multimedia story production at the University of Arizona School of Journalism. The School of Journalism and the University of Arizona, located in an active, heterogeneous community, just 60 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, highly values public engagement and outreach with myriad populations. The School of Journalism, founded in 1951, offers a theoretical and practical curriculum, including rigorous training in writing, reporting, and ethics for about 200 undergraduate students and 25 master's students. The School offers bachelor's degrees in Journalism and the Studies of Global Media, and master's degrees in Journalism, Bilingual Journalism, and the Studies of Global Media. It also offers a Ph.D. minor in Journalism and multiple dual master's degrees with other disciplines.
