THE UNIVERSITY: Louisiana Tech is a selective admissions university and offers a broad range of fully accredited undergraduate degrees in a variety of majors and doctoral programs in areas of specified expertise. The School of Human Inquiry offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science, History, Communication Studies, and Sociology, as well as minors in Geography and Philosophy. The campus is located in Ruston, Louisiana, 70 miles east of Shreveport and 30 miles west of Monroe on Interstate 20.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Political Science by September 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• The person hired will become part of an interdisciplinary academic unit with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
• A successful candidate will have teaching and research interests in public policy/public law, preferably with a focus on digital governance and law.
• The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our political science undergraduate program as well as a new MA program in Media Studies.
• The normal teaching load is three courses per quarter.
• Responsibilities will also include advising undergraduate political science majors.
• A strong commitment to exemplary teaching at the undergraduate level, scholarship/research activity, and good interpersonal and collegial skills are expected.
