About The Position

Primary responsibilities are to teach in the on campus and in-person undergraduate, prelicensure nursing program in theory, clinical, and lab settings. Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs. Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field, provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities. Contribute to curricular and programmatic assessment, evaluation, and continual refinement. Contribute to student growth and development including student advising. Support Minnesota State University Moorhead’s strategic priority of creating a campus community that is diverse, inclusive, globally aware, and just. To develop and implement curriculum within a team-teaching model of instruction for a nursing curriculum with emphasis on quality, safety, health, healing, holistic nursing, diversity, equity, and inclusion To be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate (IFO Article 22, section B): Ability to teach effectively and/or perform effectively in other current assignments, Scholarly or creative achievement or research, Evidence of continuing preparation and study, Contribution to student growth and development, Service to the university and community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Must meet Higher Learning Commission [HLC] faculty credentialing guidelines [e.g., have 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline the faculty is teaching].
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching and experience with lesson, course, and curriculum development
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing practice experience
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in teaching/working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Current unencumbered RN license
  • The successful candidate must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States by the day employment begins.
  • Official transcript(s) from all degree granting institutions must be provided to the Office of Human Resources prior to first duty day.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field
  • Experience in university teaching in baccalaureate or graduate nursing
  • Experience in teaching nursing education online, hybrid, and on campus
  • Experience in holistic health and healing principles
  • Experience developing and using student-centered, active, and experiential learning strategies, including using a variety of technology and platforms (i.e. ATI, D2L, Simulation, NGN, Teams, Zoom, Outlook, AI)
  • Experience assessing student academic achievement
  • Experience working with national accreditation and Boards of Nursing
  • Current unencumbered RN license in MN and ND
