About The Position

The University of Maine at Fort Kent is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Professor or Instructor of Nursing for its four-year rural-based CCNE accredited BSN program. The successful candidate will be a nurse educator with generalist preparation and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring student nurses. Responsibilities include providing 12 credit hours of theoretical and clinical instruction per semester in traditional classrooms, clinics, lab, or distance settings; curricular development; student advising; participation on appropriate campus and university system committees; professional development; scholarship, and willingness to support nursing division philosophy and goals. Familiarity and experience with distance education and assessment of student learning outcomes, highly desirable. This appointment will be required to teach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Campus. Work schedule will be variable based upon teaching schedule. Work beyond regular hours (which may include evenings and weekends) will be necessary in order to meet the requirements of the position. The employee will establish regular office hours on campus. Applicants are expected to develop curricula and courses, advise students, participate in division affairs, and engage in university service and scholarship. Applicants must possess the ability to deliver courses in a variety of mediums. Commitment to quality teaching is required with experience in developing strong student learning, program outcomes and assessment highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Maine state RN license required by start date.
  • Graduate degree in nursing is required.
  • PhD/DNP in Nursing required for tenure-track status.
